New Coffee Shop Coming to Old Trail Village

Beights Corporation is delighted to announce the addition of Trailside Coffee to the Village Center. Marcia McGee, proprietor, is happy to be on board so much so that she will begin serving her special brew at the Old Trail Golf Clubhouse come this August, sooner if possible.

Update on Harris Teeter

The pad site for Harris Teeter should be complete by this July and building should commence July/August. It is a 12 to 14 month project, so Harris Teeter may open their doors around June of 2009.

Parkview at Old Trail Coming Soon

Located within view of The Commons, this new group of homes has lots to offer the home buyer . There are eight homes in all, two have master bedrooms on the first floor with 2 additional bedrooms up. The others have three bedrooms up. They all have basements with two car garages and space to finish or to store items. Update on Western Park In Old Trail

Landscape architect Will Rieley of Rieley & Associates presented their plan for Western Park to the Albemarle County Planning Commission. The central theme of the plan will be to maintain a natural habitat. The western sector of the park will be earmarked for sports and the eastern portion will emphasis the more natural aspects. A two story pavilion ,50 parking spaces , and a playground is planned for the core area of the park. Nearby an amphitheater with an inflatable movie screen and perhaps a tennis court are being considered. On the western side of the park, two playing fields have been included; one regulation size and one multi-purpose. Keeping with the plans objective, the eastern side will include a half-acre pond and a looping series of trails.

The County has included Western Park in its budget for 2010-2011 and everyone is looking forward to those first steps taken toward the completion of this very special park nestled at the center of Old Trail.

Village Center Ground Breaking Ceremony

The day, March 25th, was brisk and beautiful- and the Blue Ridge Mountains stood at attention as Gaylon Beights stood at the podium and announced to the crowd of onlookers that the day had come for the Village Center to begin.
